The price tag for Pentagon-proposed block buys of two big-ticket weapon systems -- Arleigh Burke destroyers and V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft -- will be significantly higher than sums the Defense Department outlined in requests to Congress earlier this year seeking legislative permission to enter into multiyear procurements, congressional budget experts find in a new report.
