Gates Memo On 'JIEDDO Mission Directive To Provide Support To Coalition And Host Nations'

In a March 19, 2010, memorandum, Defense Secretary Robert Gates responds to a Jan. 25, 2010, memo from U.S. Joint Forces Command chief Army Gen. James Mattis regarding the use of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization to provide counter-IED support to Coalition partners. Also includes a March 23, 2010, response from JIEDDO Director Army Lt. Gen Michael Oates on actions the organization is taking to increase the counter-IED capability and capacity of coalition forces.
