DSCA Letters To Congress On Potential Arms Sales

In letters reprinted in the Federal Register, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency informs Congress of proposed sales to foreign countries for "defense articles and services." These include a June 30, 2010, letter of proposed sales to Oman for two C-130J-30 aircraft, two AN/AAR-47 Missile Approach Warning Systems, two AN/ALE-47 Countermeasure Dispenser Sets, two AN/ALR-56M Radar Warning Receivers, and supporting parts, estimated to cost $54 million; a June 30, 2010, letter of proposed sales to Tunisia for refurbishment of twelve SH-60F helicopters, 29 T700-GE-401C engines, and supporting parts, estimated to cost $282 million; a pair of July 1, 2010, letters of proposed sales to Egypt for 40 Skyguard AMOUN Solid-State Transmitters to support the upgrade of the Skyguard-SPARROW Launcher/Illuminator system and supporting parts estimated to cost $77 million and $210 million; a July 1, 2010, letter of proposed sales to Egypt to continue technical services in support of four Oliver Hazard Perry and two Knox-Class frigates worth an estimated $210 million; and a July 1, 2010, letter of proposed sales to the United Kingdom for continued participation in the Air Force/Boeing Globemaster III Sustainment Partnership, which consists of support for the U.K.'s fleet of seven Boeing C-17A Globemaster III cargo aircraft, estimated to cost $390 million.
