DOD Seeks Funds For COCOM 'Fast-Lane' Needs, New-Start Acquisitions In $7.8B Omnibus

The Pentagon is seeking congressional permission to shift $7.8 billion between accounts as part of a department-wide budget reallocation that would launch six new-start weapons projects as well as fund procurement systems that top brass at U.S. Central and Pacific commands say are needed under budget rules for "an anticipated or pending contingency operation."
