GPS III Contractors To Define Dual-Launch Requirements In New Study

The Air Force is close to giving GPS III prime contractor Lockheed Martin and launch provider United Launch Alliance the green light to conduct a follow-on study on the possibility of launching two Global Positioning System III satellites on one rocket booster in an effort to make dual launch a reality by 2017, or possibly even earlier.
