Winnefeld, Vickers: Navy Is Maintaining, Sustaining EP-3E Spy Plane

The Navy is maintaining and sustaining its principal airborne signals intelligence capability, the EP-3E Airborne Reconnaissance Integrated Electronic System II, "in a manner that meets the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance requirements" of the combatant commands, the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the head of the Pentagon's intelligence shop have told lawmakers in a letter.
