Wednesday's news that BAE Systems and EADS are in merger talks is not an immediate game changer for the U.S. defense sector, but there could be implications for Boeing and the rest of the European sector, Wall Street analyst Byron Callan of Capital Alpha Partners said Wednesday. "A merger may not signal a major strengthening of the combined firms' defense operations," he wrote in a report.
