Better Late Than Never

Air Force Secretary Michael Donley on Thursday toured the 911th Airlift Wing at Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, PA, at the request of Pennsylvania lawmakers. The Air Force, in its fiscal year 2013 budget request, proposed moving several C-130 aircraft away from the Pittsburgh base and closing it. The base is in the district of Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA), who co-authored legislation in the House FY-13 defense authorization bill that requires the Air Force to seek congressional approval before closing the base.
